To Dream!

Posted by Natasha on May 28, 2008

For as long as I can remember, I have always been a dreamer.  Not a dreamer in the sense of someone who sits and stares into space. But just being able to dream dreams in vivid colors. Sometimes, I dream about things that may happen or things that are causing me concerns.  My dreams have often been so vivid, that I have wondered whether or not my dreams were real or just that….a dream.

What are some things that you dream about? Do you dream of being late for a special occassion? Do you dream of not completing a task that is looming near? Do you dream about someone you miss? How about dreaming for that love that is unreturned?  What about dreaming of places that are familiar and safe? For me I always like to dream about flying. Being able to fly is the coolest thing for me.  I once dreamed that I was cornered by someone who was trying to beat me up. And then I realize that I had the ability to fly!  While the person was shouting all sorts of insults, I realized that I had the power to take off and fly away. In my flight I felt safe and powerful. So powerful that I was able to scare the person because they thought that I would hurt them. In that dream, I was not picked on again!

What’s the big idea? Well, the big idea is this. Whether in our dreams or in conscious status of alert being, we are all able to lift off and rise above any place or person that makes us feel unsafe.  I may not be a dreamer who is a gazer, but I think in some ways my dreams give me glimpses of who I really am.  In may awakened state I often sit back and allow people to hurt me. But then I remember in my dreams, I am mighty and I can overcome anything.  Take the time to revisit your dreams. Take the time to see who you really are in your asleep state only to wake up to become a better person or evolve into the person you were meant to be.

Live out your dreams.
